Social Media Policy

St Albert Youth Basketball (SLAM) Social Media Policy

Welcome to our basketball family! As we embrace the world of social media, it’s important to ensure that our online presence reflects the same values of sportsmanship, respect, and positivity that we promote on the court. Here’s our quick guide to keeping things friendly and respectful online:

1. Be Kind and Courteous: Always interact with others in a respectful and positive manner. Remember, you’re an ambassador for our team both on and off the court.

2. Think Before You Post: If you wouldn’t say it in the game or to someone’s face, don’t say it online. Avoid sharing content that could be seen as offensive, inflammatory, or disrespectful.

3. Protect Privacy: Don’t share personal information about yourself or other people, including teammates, coaches, or opponents.

4. Respect Boundaries: Keep communication with coaches and other players appropriate and within the context of team activities.

5. Avoid Endorsements: Please don’t use the team’s name or imagery to promote products, services, or political views.

6. Celebrate Success: Share your achievements and fun moments! It’s great to celebrate our wins and the great experiences we have as a team.

7. Report Problems: If you see something concerning on social media related to our team, please let a coach or team administrator know so we can address it.

8. Represent Us Well: Remember that you represent our basketball community. Let’s show the best of who we are, just as we aim to do in every game.

By following these guidelines, we can all contribute to a positive and supportive online community that celebrates our love for basketball. Let’s keep it fun, let’s keep it respectful, and let’s show the world the spirit of our team!

We may occasionally update these guidelines to ensure they continue to serve our community’s best interests. Your adherence to these guidelines is appreciated and contributes to the positive spirit of our sport.
